Die Dritte Generation-Der Holocaust im familiären Gedächtnis
The exhibition “Die Dritte Generation – Der Holocaust im familiären Gedächtnis” at the Jüdisches Museum München delves into the transgenerational transmission of Holocaust trauma and memory. Eighty years after the Holocaust, it explores how the experiences and traumas of survivors have been passed down to their children and grandchildren. Through a diverse array of artistic works, the exhibition examines themes of remembrance, silence, family myths, and the challenges of confronting a painful legacy. It also highlights the efforts of Sintizze and Romnja communities in seeking recognition of their Holocaust experiences. The exhibition is a collaboration with the Jüdisches Museum Wien and has been adapted to include local perspectives from Munich artists.
